Dan Wheldon Scores Indy 500 100th Anniversary Race Win

The William Rast sponsored Dan Wheldon won the 100th Anniversary Indianapolis 500 Mile Race the past weekend, while also announcing a new partnership with racing superstar Danica Patric, whose racer will be wearing William Rast Eyewear and William Rast Racing Eyewear on and off the track.

For those who don’t know it yet, William Rast is the contemporary American denim brand founded by Justin Timberlake in 2005. Timberlake himself tweeted on Sunday night, 'Congrats to Dan Wheldon, the WR racing team and everyone else who put in the hard work for this victory. Unreal!'"

"Dan drove an incredible race. We were in the front group all day and the last 20 laps, Dan's drive was the most exceptional drive I have ever witnessed. With 2 laps to go he was catching the leader at lightning speed, and was only seconds behind when he forced the leader into making a risky pass on a lap down car, instead of slowing and risking Dan to pass him. Coming out of turn 4 the leader crashed, and Dan came through the debris and dust to win the Indy 500!"
said Colin Dyne, Chief Executive Officer William Rast.

"I can't thank William Rast enough," Wheldon said. "Not only was the car fast, it was a good-looking car. For me, winning the 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500 is very special. I love this racetrack, this race and what it's done for my career, even before being a two-time winner. That is an emotion that didn't come into it before, and because I'm more experienced, I'm able to appreciate this more and I now have more time to appreciate it."
