Many of us have had the pleasure of growing up with a father that fancied showing his offspring(s) what the thrills of speed are. It is only fitting to make a parent proud of his efforts, so many of us adore returning this adrenaline-playing favor. This is exactly what the guy in the video below does, with his father amusingly trying to deal with the rush in a manly manner.
While we’ll leave the “dad reaction” part to the footage, let’s get into the details of the car a little bit. This way, you’ll fully understand what the son put his father through.

What we have here is the classic definition of a sleeper. We are talking about a 1982 Ford Fairmont Futura. Perhaps the mint condition of the car is the only one that should tip people off this is no usual ride.

The car has had a 5.3-liter LSX engine swap. The icing on this V8 cake is a Magnum 80 mm turbine. Other tech goodies include 243 cylinder heads, a TSP blower cam, a LS1 intake, as well as 80 lb. injectors. The tranny is a 4L80E four-speed automatic, which was upgraded with a Circle D triple-disc torque converter. This is accompanied by a 8.8 rear end with 33 spline Moser spool and axes.

Since we’re here, we’ll mention the owner likes to call this the Goldmember. As for his dad, well, the man nicknamed the Ford “Leroy Brown”. Fitting, except the fact that, last time we checked, Leroy was supposed to drive a Continental and an Eldorado.
