The union of Automobile Dacia will take to the streets, this Wednesday, to show support for the car industry in Mioveni, Romania and to protest against the Government’s decision to postpone the construction of the highway stretch between Pitesti and Sibiu.
Apparently, a large number of people are expected to participate, around 10,000, and we’re talking about workers from different sectors of the automobile industry.

The event is quite important as we’re dealing with people that are dissatisfied with the lack of actual measures taken to support Romanian car industry. So, unionists are doing their best to make the government understand that something must be done with the current situation.

Thus, with this protest on March 5th, they are hopping to obtain tickets for the car park renewal program as well as have people encouraged to buy new vehicles. This isn’t the only focus of this event as it’s also about the government officials’ failure to keep their promises with respect to amending the labor legislation and most importantly the above mentioned delay of the highway stretch between Pitesti and Sibiu as unionist say this highway is “ extremely important for SC Automobile Dacia, its suppliers, and Romania.”

The public gathering will be held between 1 PM and 2:30 PM Wednesday and opens the series of actions that were discussed on February 25 by the BNS Council.
