There was a pretty sizable pandemonium fit in the European media today, after a rumor surrounding a possible - and may we add highly improbable - Dacia entry into the world of Formula 1 came adrift.
Most European and especially Romanian media sounded violently and hideously cacophonous - to inappropriately quote Virginia Woolf - at the news, and frankly we can't really blame them for it.
The original reports were talking about Captain Slow's favorite car brand as potentially being one of the three new teams to start racing in Formula One as early as 2015, with a large bunch of state-owned companies to fund the project.
Originally from Romania, former Force India and HRT F1 team boss Colin Kolles is apparently somehow related to the project, while the cars themselves are to be based around Renault F1 engines badged as Dacia.
The blog post which started the whole media frenzy was written by Adam Cooper, a known and respected motorsport journalist, but the thing is he didn't specifically say that the team will be badged as Dacia, as you can all read here.
On top of it, Romanian media outlets contacted Dacia and, unsurprisingly, the car maker didn't have the slightest idea about being involved in such a project in only a year's time.
