It seems it’s not only the Russians that are making Ladas out of the Dacia Logan, but also India’s Mahindra & Mahindra. Still, this is not surprising since the Logan was alway supposed to be a car for emerging markets. But the current generation is already eight years old and will be replaced by a new sedan that will most likely bow in two months.
Still, let’s see what sort of car was good enough for the Indian market. The Dacia lines have been covered up in a cluttered and messy effort to turn it into an Indian car. The Verito comes with a new set of lights (front and back), as well as bumpers, grille and boot lid.
The interior is very similar to the Logan facelift, which was introduced across the European market back in 2008. The face of the steering wheel is changed, but the instruments and air vents haven’t. The passenger airbag has also been deleted, and you can even have fake wood on the dash.
The engine range for the car includes a 1.4-liter MPI with 75 hp and Renault’s 1.5 dCi offered with 65 hp. Both are offered only with a manual transmission.
