British game studio Codemasters, one of the world leaders when it comes to great racing franchises, seems to be on a bit of a roll, ahead of the Gamescon gaming show, which is due to take place in Cologne, Germany, from August 15 to 19.
Aside from the new ‘Grid 2’ game, a sequel with really big shoes to fill, the famed UK studio will also be debuting their Formula One game for 2012, rather predictably called ‘F1 2012’. Aside from the usual gorgeous graphics, smooth animations and great car control and physics, the 2012 incarnation of the familiar racing series will a new game mode, called ‘Champions Mode’ - which pits you against lots of adversaries with worn tires, whereas you have a fresh set and a lot of places to recover.
The game should be launched in September, and it will be available for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC, with the latter definitely getting the sharpest visuals.
