Civita Film Fest, a Film Festival for Car Lovers

Engine, horsepower, roar of the exhaust, propellers, speed... These and many other words which you usually associate with with man-made machines will all gather this weekend at Civita di Bagnoregio for the first ever film festival dedicated to cars: Civita Film Fest.

The event, which runs from June 11 to June 13, will be a treat in terms of both movies and cars. Titles like the Fast and Furious franchise, animations like Cars, classics like Gone in 60 seconds and hits like Gran Torino will all come together for three days of visual excitement.

Accompanying the movies, an incredible display of vehicles will be on hand for the passionate. American manufacturer Ford will bring along the vehicles featured in Casino Royal, Quantum of Solace, Gran Torino, Gone in 60 seconds and The War of the Worlds.

Ford's involvement with the project goes however deeper than that, as the new S-MAX is the festival's official vehicle. The American carmaker will have the car ready to take those interested for test drives for the duration of the event.

The event opens today, June 11, with an homage brought to Dennis Hopper, who passed away on May 29, 2010. The actor will be honored with both projections and the display of the Harley Davidson featured in Easy Rider.

The will have five categories: classic movie, latest release, advertising, road movie and "under control," each with its own set of movies and awards.
