Citroen Launches Connexion Special Editions

When a certain model in a carmaker’s range gets too popular on the roads, or there isn’t any facelift or new generation variant planned very soon, the solution is to come up with special editions. So is the case with the British division of Citroen, who has just announced the introduction of three new ‘Connexion’ special editions for the C3 and C3 Picasso ranges.

“The up-weighted standard specification brings advanced convenience to drivers who like to remain connected and in control on the move - with safe, easy and enjoyable communication, entertainment and guidance right at their fingertips,” a company statement reads.

Based on the VTR+ trim level, all three Connexion models feature a host of connective technologies as standard, including MyWay colour satellite navigation with hands-free Bluetooth, as well as various other styling and equipment upgrades.

The C3 with panoramic Zenith windscreen receives integrated MyWay satellite navigation with Bluetooth and automatic digital air conditioning as standard. Two C3 Connexion models are available, either with the 1.4i 75 petrol engine or the HDi 70 powerplant.

Both C3 Connexion models also gain dynamic 16-inch alloy wheels, exterior chrome detailing and new interior touches, dark-tinted rear windows and new cloth upholstery.

On the other hand, the C3 Picasso Connexion models get the same integrated satellite navigation system with Bluetooth and automatic air conditioning, plus a leather-trimmed steering wheel, automatic headlamps and automatic rain-sensitive windscreen wipers.

The Connexion special editions are priced at just £500 or £600 more than the equivalent VTR+ models - with well over £1,000 worth of additional equipment. Specifically, pricing for the C3 Connexion was set at £13,790 (for the 1.4i 75 manual) and at £14,890 (for the HDi 70 manual), while the C3 Picasso Connexion retails for £15,895 (HDi 90 manual).
