Citroen DS4 Teaser Rolled Out

Citroen's DS lineup revival has already started with the unveiling of the DS3 and the French manufacturer gets ready for the introduction of its new contraption, the long-awaited DS4. Just as one would expect, the car will be similar to the C4, just like the DS3 is to the C3, but nobody actually knows the way the future model is going to look like.

What we have here is a teaser showing the DS4, a model which, according to various sources, will be fully presented this week ahead of the first public appearance at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

Quite obvious since we're dealing with a teaser, only a little can be noticed in the picture. For instance, the car appears to boast a crossover-like design, with the overall dimensions probably slightly bigger than C4's.

The DS4 will be based on the C-Sportlounge coupe-come-MPV hybrid concept displayed in 2005 but will also use some design cues of the current C4 model. It could be used by Citroen to compete against Nissan Qashqai and Peugeot 3008.

The next-generation Citroen C4, which is likely to be revealed this year at the Paris Motor Show - with sales to begin soon after that, will employ several engines, including a high-power unit that will develop around 200 hp. The same configuration, or at least a similar setup, is likely to make it on the DS4 as well.

The new C4 range will also include a hybrid powertrain, but details on such a DS4 version are not available at this point.
