Nowadays some of the premium manufacturers have begun to offer matte body finishes for some of their cars, yet these are usually limited in number and require special attention and care. Most manufacturers offer one or two such finishes, yet Citroen begs to differ with the Just Mat edition of the DS4, which starts at €34,950, in Europe.
The French manufacturer is offering its sporty crossover with a choice of seven matte paint jobs, called Ground, Ocean, Polar, Cloud, Storm, Fire and Shadow. Strangely, that’s exactly how many regular metallic finishes they offer, as well.
To complete the look, the special edition model also comes with very sporty 19-inch rims, finished in glossy black, as well as an extensive list of extras, the most notable of which being the Havana leather interior, which to our eyes looks very good. Other extras include rain sensing wipers, parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, sat-nav, USB input and Bluetooth connectivity.
Only 500 examples will ever be built, and they will be available with either of the most powerful engines: the 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol unit with 200 hp and the 160 hp 2.0-liter HDi diesel.
