Though Citroen was done building fun cars? Well, well, it seems that you’re in for a surprise as Citroen has had something up its sleeve for quite a while now, since it was actually shown as a concept earlier in the year. The new Citroen DS3 Cabrio Racing has just been revealed and promises a 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that develops 207 bhp (154kW).
Some of you might remember the concept car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed but this time around you’ll treat your eyes to a matte Moondust Grey trim car that has faux carbon fiber accents and Crimson Red flourishes. Besides this, the brand new vehicle has some embroidered headrests as well as an individually-numbered badge.

Weighting 25kg (55lbs) more than the DS3 Racing, the Cabrio has adopted a streamlined architecture. This means that the car is more responsive and drivers can experience a more agile handling. Also it includes a number of carbon fiber components such as the front splitter, rear diffuser and side skirts in an effort to save weight.

These are early times for the car, and we don't have full details yet. But expect 0 to 100 km/h in under 7 seconds and a top speed of over 200 km/h when the car goes on sale in 2014.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
