We totally need a new award to complement the Darwin awards, to be handed to people that are incredibly dumb, yet who only get jailed instead of killed. And to justify why such a prize could be indeed a lot of fun, here's another story of "street heroes" becoming "jailed heroes."
Mr. Pang, a native of the Guangxi province in Southwest China, rode his Yamaha R1 to the Chinese capital Beijing this August and thought that it was the perfect time and place to show the world how fast he can be.

So he took his R1 to one of Beijing's ring roads and let loose. Mr. Pang reached speeds of 147 mph (just under 237 km/h) on the said road, riding at three times the legal speed limit in certain areas. And because Pang believed that a glorious deed like riding around that 21-mile ring road in 14 minutes is a thing that the world needs to know about, he decided to brag about this.

Police work took some time, it's true, but last Saturday, the cops reached Mr. Pang, thousands of miles from Beijing, in his native province. When faced with the allegations, the rider confessed, being subsequently detained. It is yet unknown what his penalty will be, but we do know that he faces jail time. Other young drivers involved in illegal street races and crashes earlier in April are already serving their jail convictions.

Time and again, it sometimes looks like the world is indeed taking Idiocracy as the goal to reach...
