This is one of the more amusing stories we’ve posted recently. So apparently there’s this BMW Z4 owner from China who decided that his German sports car was not flashy enough, so he gave it a very special paint job. However, the police from the city of Shenyang, in the Liaoning Province, decided that the outrageous finish was much too shiny, so they impounded the car.
While such paint jobs are officially illegal in China, the police probably have much bigger issues to deal with and they usually let these kinds of cars slide.
However, this particular car reportedly had no number plates, as well as extra LED lights, both on the front of the car as well as in each wheel.((Fortunately, the owner was able to recover his car, after having paid the $79 / 500 yuan fine - yet if he is caught driving the thing again, in the current state, it will be impounded and it will be much harder to recover. It will be ‘strike two’!
