The Chinese have bought it all last year, at least in the automotive sector. Regardless of your name as an automobile manufacturer, if you have an ongoing operation in China, then you can't fail.
Yet, as it appears, the Chinese have reached capacity. No, don't get scared, they will still buy cars, but, perhaps, not for the moment. For now, the Chinese plan to take a break from it all and relax.
At least, this is what Winston Global Energy, a Chinese-based company with a lot of money to spend, seems to believe. And they believe it so much, that they place one humongous order for recreational vehicles (RVs) to MVP RV, an American builder of such machines.
The order calls for MVP RVto deliver to China, over the next three years, 30,000 RVs (10,000 class A motorhomes and 20,000 class C motorhomes), in exchange for in excess of $5 billion. And that's only the beginning, as Winston promised more money will be provided in the future for the development of all-electric RVs and fast-charging electrical systems.
The deal is so big, that even the presidents of the two countries where the companies reside, Barack Obama and Hu Jintao, who met this week in Washington, noticed it.
“We are delighted to make this announcement, which will have such a positive effect on California’s Inland Empire,” said Brad Williams, MVP RV CEO.
“This will reinvigorate the industry and create new market opportunities with innovative products and superior customer service that have global appeal. Over the next 12 months, we anticipate hiring approximately 1,300 employees needed to build products for the emerging Chinese market where there is a growing interest in RV travel and camping.”
