The Annual Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) Show which takes place these days in Louisville, Kentucky is the perfect, and pretty much the only venue for the builders in this sector to show their might.
Earlier today, we've presented you the Element travel trailer manufactured by EverGreen Recreational Vehicles. Now it's time for a look at the products another major player in the industry, Fleetwood, has brought to the show.
The RV maker presented today the 2011 Jamboree and Tioga line of Class C motor homes, which comprise the Jamboree DSL, Tioga DSL (both for premium buyers) and the Jamboree Sport DSL and Tioga Ranger DSL for the masses. All versions of the motor homes are built on Mercedes-Benz chassis and use a Mercedes-Benz 6 cylinder, 3.0l turbo-diesel engine.
Depending on the model, the motor homes are equipped with sofa booth dinette, glazed hardwood cabinet doors, aluminum luggage doors, standard DuPont full-body paint and Vacubond construction.
"Our dealer network was the main driver of our decision to enter the Class C diesel market," said John Draheim, Fleetwood RV CEO.
"At our National Dealer Meeting this past August, we asked dealers for their feedback on product concepts designed to compete in this segment. Three months later, we are introducing the 2011 Jamboree DSL and Tioga DSL lines, which should bring new retail opportunities to our dealer channel."
The prices for the new motor homes have not yet been announced. According to Fleetwood, the new models will be in dealerships in the first months of next year.
