As it happens with many car owners, at some point the car's stock appearance will stop pleasing their eyes. Either that or carmakers hope to boost sales by offering visually-tweaked versions for some of their models.
In both cases, the results are bolder choices for customers, often known as special editions.

This is where the Midnight Edition and the Z71 Trail Boss special 2016 Colorado models come into play. Each one has its own thematic, according to Chevrolet: "the Midnight Edition evokes the aesthetic of an urban tuner vehicle, while the Z71 Trail Boss is designed for terrain where the pavement ends."

So, let's see what each has to offer. Just as in the Silverado, the Midnight Edition grants a new flavor for the Colorado, via black grille, bowtie emblem, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The Colorado Midnight Edition is available on LT models with the extended and crew cab bodies, in 2WD or 4WD, and with the 2.5L and 3.6L engines. It will also be available with the all-new 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel engine, but hold your horses for now, because official pricing will be out at a late date.

As for the Z71 Trail Boss embroidery, you need to know it comes with a new sport bar with LED trail lighting matched by black-finished 17-inch aluminum wheels wearing Goodyear Wrangler DuraTec all-terrain tires and tubular assist steps.

It can be had with the same models as the Midnight Edition, but you'll also have to wait a month or so for official price tags to be announced, as the two editions will go on sale this fall.
