Remember the "Find New Roads" Chevy ad we showed you about a month ago, in which the small Sonic thinks it's a skateboard and tries all kinds of stunts through an industrial facility?
Well, Chevy's subcompact gained a full commercial to skateboard around in with Theophilus London behind the wheel. The rapper seems to be in a hurry to grab some… milk… from the mini market… to quench his cereal craving. Seriously?
"The Sonic and Theophilus London can make even running errands epic," says Chevrolet. Well, yeah, we can't argue about the spectacle put in this add, but we might have added some "ridiculous" to that quote.
To make things even funnier, Chevy added a "Sonic is still not a skateboard. Do not attempt" disclaimer to the video. Really? Yeah, yeah, it's only a commercial, we know that, but if Chevrolet might have put a little more though into this… we wouldn't be such haters.
It seems like a lot of automakers are taking the hyperbolic route when doing ads for their cars. There's nothing wrong with that, because we've seen a lot of good stuff, but Chevrolet obviously lacked some afflatus when doing this one.
