When the 30 Jahre BMW M5 was announced (or 30th Anniversary in English), we were taken aback a little. That’s because it became the most powerful BMW ever made and the fastest accelerating one.
It was a car built to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the M5 model and it came with some really neat tricks up its sleeve, but also with a matching price tag. In the US, that price kicked things off at over $138,000 and in Europe it was over €130,000, making this one of the most expensive models the Germans ever sold.

Considering that only 300 of them were ever built and the performance the car brought to the table, it’s rather obvious that it couldn’t have been cheaper.

To some extent, the price is justifiable, but then again, when you look at how much some people paid, things get out of hand. Getting one in the US would cost you at least $200,000 now, since there are only 29 available on the American continent altogether.

For example, Rick Hendrick paid $700,000 for one at a charity event earlier this year, a record figure for the 600 HP bruiser.

Now, we went online and wondered how much such a car would cost on the old Continent. As it turns out, it’s not that expensive. In Germany, the standard M5 starts at €104,000 and we found one anniversary edition model starting at €110,000 which is not bad considering all the facts. Admittedly, there are no photos of it, so we can’t really take it seriously.

The second cheapest car we found was one priced at €120,000, and this time, things look a lot better, with real-life photos offered for potential customers.

Unfortunately, this seller doesn’t provide a lot of info about it either, keeping essential info hidden, such as the mileage on the odometer and other things. Basically, only the options are listed and that’s not nearly enough.

Saying we’re suspicious would be an understatement, but the price is definitely tantalizing, considering you get a 600 HP beast with a 0-62 mph sprint that takes only 3.9 seconds. Would you take a leap of faith?
