Charles Barkely Guilty of DUI, Goes to Jail

No mercy for the American retired professional basketball player and aspiring politician Charles Barkely following his DUI incidents! "Sir Charles" is now officially going to jail, TMZ has learned.

After pleading guilty to 2 counts of driving under the influence and "responsible" to running a stop sign for the December 31 incident in Scottsdale, Barkley was convicted to 10 days in jail . But if he agrees to complete an alcohol education program, he will only spend five days among law breakers and murderers. In addition, the former basketball player was also given a $2,000 ticket. He will begin his sentence on March 21, but so far we have no clear information regarding the jail he will go to.

For those who are not up-to-date with Barkley's deeds, the former basketball legend was arrested in  Arizona in the early hours of December 31, 2008 for DUI. According to the reporting officer, Barkley was pulled over for running a stop sign and refused to undergo a breathalyzer test. Consequently, he was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.

At the moment of the incident, the officer who wrote the report said that "he ran the stop sign because he was in a hurry to pick up the girl I saw get in the passenger seat" and that all he wanted was to "drive around the corner" and have oral sex.

Two months later, he thought of coming up with a public excuse. "Clearly, I made a mistake drinking and driving. And I'm getting penalized for that, and rightfully so," he admitted. "Drinking and driving is a very serious thing. It was stupid, and it was 100 percent my fault."

What's more,  officers "found a handgun in the vehicle" which was immediately impounded.
