This would look ah-mazing on the big screen, in any of Michael Bay’s movies, aka the one director in Hollywood with the most explosions and car crashes on his resume ever.
In real life, though, it’s a miracle no one was seriously injured. According to Jersey Sure News Network, a 2-vehicle crash closed down traffic on the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey, until authorities were able to remove the wrecks and the debris.

“How does it happen?” reads the caption to the photo of the wreck. It’s a justified question, as one of the vehicles stands perpendicularly on its front end, against the median, propped between the concrete and the truck with which it had collided. The accident happened on the southbound side near milepost 82 in Toms River, and traffic was shut down for a few hours.

The report doesn’t say what caused the crash or whether the occupants of the vehicle are ok, but other media outlets cite the police as saying that no one was seriously injured. Again, considering that one car ended up on its nose, upright in the air, that is a miracle.

Reckless driving, speeding and drunk-driving remain the leading causes of fatal car crashes. They are all preventable as well, so, while this particular accident didn’t result in fatalities, bear in mind that the next one might not have a happy ending.

Don’t drink and drive (or don’t drive when you’re too tired), follow instructions on local speed limits and be mindful of the other motorists – this is what the police have been saying on repeat for years. Also, put down your phone, and keep your eyes on the road and the hands on the wheel.

Leave the spectacular crashes to the likes of Michael Bay and stay safe on the road.
