Unlike Chevrolet and Dodge, two brands that recently gave up on their two-door pony and muscle car fortunes, Cadillac hasn't abandoned the ways of the high-performance sedan.
Chevrolet had to ditch the sixth-generation Camaro due to several factors – regulations, a quirky design, slowing demand because of a lack of interest in performance, and the availability of higher-powered rivals like the Hellcats and Shelbys. Now, the nameplate has gone into retirement, and it will lay dormant until the EV revolution summons it.

Likewise, Dodge has abandoned the L-bodied Charger and Challenger to the nether, and only one of them will return sporting the new STLA Large underpinnings and a return to the old ways of two-door fastback greatness. The new Charger Daytona is also an EV, but it won't give up on ICE power thanks to the new 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six turbo options.

Meanwhile, Cadillac has not forsaken the traditional four-door sedan sector and recently upgraded not only the CT5 series but also the sporty CT5-V plus the mighty Blackwing. The latter will be available in limited quantities for the 2025 model year with significant refreshments – but that doesn't mean the current model is any less feisty. There is no need to take our word for granted, as we have an eloquent example thanks to a 668-hp supercharged 6.2-liter V8 executive sedan.

More precisely, the good folks over at the racing-focused ImportRace channel on YouTube love drags and rolls - they hit the motherload at Bradenton Motorsports Park just recently during a Street Heat event. The action at the quarter-mile dragstrip is centered around the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, and probably in the heat of it, the videographer sometimes mistakes the models.

That's probably what happened with the inaugural dig – they say the Blackwing went against a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, but the crimson badging on the fender most likely indicates this is a 392 SRT. However, it could be tuned, so nobody should dismiss it for being any lesser than the 668-hp sedan foe. In the end, there could be only one victor – and the murky smartphone prompt showed that it was the Cadillac with 11.92 versus 12.75s ETs.

Next up, it was all about Bradenton's 40 mph (64 kph) rolls, with the Cadillac trying to roar past every adversary. First, it clashed with an Audi S6 and had no trouble asserting its premium dominance, followed by a BMW SUV (most likely it's an X3. Certainly, it's not an M4 as the description suggests!), which also didn't have what it takes to beat the Caddy. The same is valid for the little coupe at the end of the video embedded below, but the Ford Mustang GT at the 1:09 mark was a different story altogether, as it performed like a supercar in disguise!
