Recent speculation has suggested that, as of next F1 season, Jenson Button join Fernando Alonso, to race for Ferrari. However, the Brit clearly stated, in an interview with Autosprint, that him joining Ferrari is totally out of the question.
He went on to say that he had no idea where exactly the rumor started and why it is focused solely on him. However, when asked whether or not Ferrari had formally asked him to be part of their team for 2013, his answer was an evasive one. At the end of the interview, Jenson Button did say “never say never”, but that was simply to ‘keep the rumor pot boiling’ so to speak, because we’re sure he knows that all publicity (and attention) is good publicity.

However, we say the main reason for not making the switch to Ferrari is Alonso himself, who, with Button’s own words “has the whole team around him”, and Button would not be another ‘Barichello’ to Ferrari’s current ‘Schumacher’, waving the ‘main driver’ by, into first place.
