Burning Audi R8 in Canada

Supercars are a volatile concoction of petrol, heat and testosterone. This can prove fatal for the wallet of the owner if the Maranello marvel or Raging Bull spontaneously catches fire. Now, this isn’t some supernatural occurrence, like ball lightning or leprechauns.
But we go bashing Ferrari too much for the frequant blazes we find their cars in, let’s take a look at the German side of things. This is a charred Audi R8 that was spotted as fire crews were extinguishing it on the Gardiner Expressway in the Canadian.

It’s really sad to see firemen destroying one of the headlights so they can get water into the front compartment.

In 2011, the R8 Spyder was recalled in the US due to a potential fuel leak. Seven complaints had been received to date about a leak in the fuel line to the number two fuel injector, which operates under extremely high pressure.

A fuel leak is probably the cause of this fire as well.
