You know when in some cartoons the driver ends up crashing his car because the steering wheel comes off? Well you may achieve that in real life if you own a 2013 Buick Encore.
General Motors will recall 144 Buick Encores built between December 9th and 28th in 2012. The issue seems to affect only the heated steering wheel fitted Encores, that might not have a properly mounted fastener. As such, the steering wheel might separate from the steering column, leaving the driver with the most surprised face ever on its way to a crash.
"There are no known injuries or crashes related to the issue," GM said in a statement on Tuesday.
The automaker had already contacted 59 customers with heated steering wheels fitted Encores to announce them of the problem. The other 85 vehicles that may share the problem were not sold yet, but they were verified while being in dealerships.
