Bugatti Veyron Special Editions Unveiled in Shanghai

The Italian automaker Bugatti has unveiled two special edition models at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show.

The two models are called the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport Black Carbon and the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport White Matt Blue Carbon. We must admit that these Italian cars look absolutely stunning and seem to bend the limits of design, elegance, refinement and performance even further that the standard Veyron pushed when it was first released.

The Black Carbon Veyron represents an unpainted version of the Super Sport Veyron which has a bodywork made out almost entirely of carbon. The special edition version features stainless chrome finishes such as the A and C pillar roof line as well as the wheels and exhaust tailpipes.

According to Bugatti, the one of a kind Super Sport Black Carbon Veyron showcased at the Shanghai Motor Show is, as everyone perhaps expected, already sold. The Italian machine features the usual powerplant of Bugatti, the 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 engine that for this particular model develops 1,200 hp (882kW) and 1,106 lb-ft (1,500 Nm) of torque. The car can reach an electronically limited top speed of 258 mph (415km/h).

On the other hand, the second special edition model, named Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport White Matt Blue Carbon, is based on the convertible version of the Veyron. It features a 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 engine capable of developing 1001 hp (746kW). The car’s top speed is limited to 253 mph (407 km/h), or 224 mph (360 km/h) with the roof open.

The Grand Sport model focuses more on design rather than pure performance as its blue interior accented by brushed aluminum highlights demonstrates. In order to resemble with the interior, the exterior of the model also features blue details, such as special blue shadow chrome alloy wheels and a number of blue carbon fibre trimming pieces.
