You can have a plug-in car without a plug, so it’s only natural that Toyota would announce a preferred supplier of electric vehicle charging stations in Britain, with the Prius Plug-In Hybrid on the way in 2012 and the iQ EV soon to follow.
British Gas was designed at the firm best suited for the job, and they will offer both private and fleet customers a range of products to cater to their plug-in needs. The supplier is in the forefront of vehicle charging technology, and is expected to be the preferred choice for 70 per cent of the national electric vehicle market by next year.
“Electric cars are coming of age and this new partnership with Toyota is part of a continued drive by British Gas to make any type of electrically powered car simple, safe and more cost-effective. Our national network of electrical engineers provides all the advice and expertise necessary to enable car owners to power their car safely and easily, and for less money,” said Dean Keeling, Managing Director of British Gas Smart Homes.
