Briatore Rules Out Reconciliation with Mosley

Former Renault manager Flavio Briatore insisted that he wants to hear nothing of former FIA president Max Mosley from now on. The man whom he suspects was behind the entire crash-gate last year – which brought the Italian an initial lifetime ban from all FIA sanctioned competitions – actually tried to reconcile with him a few weeks ago.

When his second child was born – Falco, his first son with wife Elisabetta – Briatore revealed that Mosley sent him a congratulation text message. However, that gesture did not make the 60-year old Italian to change his mind about the Brit, as he insisted Mosley will forever be a part of his past.

He sent me a text message to congratulate us on the birth of Falco, but Mosley is part of my former life. In my future there will be no place for him,” said Briatore in an interview with Italian magazine Chi. Additionally, he saluted the new FIA era under president Jean Todt.

I'm happy for Jean (Todt). my friend of 20 years. Thanks to him, the FIA can now quietly and serenely breathe new air,” said Briatore.

Both Briatore and his “partner in crime” Pat Symonds have recently came to an agreement with the FIA on their future in motorsports. The deal states that they will both be allowed to participate, in an official role, in a FIA-sanctioned competition starting 2012, while the ban extends to 2013 in Formula One.

Briatore once again claimed his innocence in the crash saga, saying that the deal with the FIA doesn't mean he's guilty of race fixing, but only shows that he has taken responsibility for what happened.

It was very bad for my story. I suffered an injustice. But the truth, the power of the truth, wins every time,” added the Italian.
