Sweeney will take over his new role effective immediately,

He consolidated 13 different agencies to one dedicated partner to drive a consistent brand message, led the dealer network through a difficult transition and has earned a reputation for tirelessly driving results that benefit consumers.

Sweeney joined GM in 1990 and held several managing position within the company, starting with district sales manager for GMC. He will be replaced as general sales manager of Buick GMC by Jennifer Costabile, currently regional sales and marketing manager for Cadillac in the Southeast Region.

Costabile served in a variety of roles, focusing on sales, service and parts, improving dealer relations, productivity and marketing effectiveness, and developing the overall dealer network.

The changes GM keeps on making these days have began with the ousting of its former CEO, Fritz Henderson.
