Breitling Colt Chronograph Brings the Armed Forces to Your Wrist

Inspired by the Colt collection, which “was born for action, feats and thrills”, Breitling’s new Colt Chronograph reinterprets all the key assets of the original timepiece that was specially designed for the Armed Forces. Designed with a simple, but elegant finish, using top-notch materials and powered by a self-winding movement, the watch was created for those who want to keep ahead of the game.

The Colt was initially launched in the 1980s and was supposd to serve the armed forces. Its sturdiness, functionality and readability made it later appeal to a broader audience. According to the Swiss luxury watch maker, it has subsequently established itself as the most accessible Breitling model.

So far, the Colt collection has been available in four versions with well-defined characters, including a quartz chronograph and a ladies’ watch. Now, a new self-winding chronograph equipped with a movement chronometer-certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute has been added. As its previous inspiration, the new timepiece also comes with counters placed at 12, 9 and 6 o’clock.

The broad unidirectional rotating bezel, with satin-brushed finishes and engraved hour-markers, is distinguished by its four “rider tabs” ensuring both handling and optimal protection of the sapphire crystal. The 44 mm diameter polished steel case is water resistant to 200 m (660 ft) and features a large screw-locked crown with protective reinforcements. Black, blue or silver dials are of choice and each is enlivened by a circular raised motif.

Other than that, there is also a new variety of leather straps with deployant or buckle, rubber Ocean Racer, rubber Driver or on a steel Professional bracelet. No word on the prices so far, but we’ll keep you updated.
