Brabus will use the upcoming Essen Motor Show introduce the Widestar Mercedes SLS, a wide-body aftermarket package for the German supercar. The SLS has been fitted with a carbon fiber body kit that uses a comlex layout, enhancing the vehicle’s aerodynamics and offering it a more menacing look. All the carbon fiber components are offered with a matte or glossy clear-coated finish or can come in a customer-chosen color.
The tuner has developed a custom-tailored incarnation of the Monoblock F Platinum Edition forged rims, which come in a 20x9.5-inch size for the front axle and in a 21x11-inch size for the rear one. The wheels can be ordered with a brushed-design or ceramics-polished surface or can come in any color desired by the customer. The wheels, which use Pirelli or Yokohama tires (275/30 ZR20: front and 295/25 ZR21: rear) widen the rear track by 20 mm, thus offering an enhanced handling.
The tuning company has also played with the vehicle’s suspension, installing a Bilstein system that reduces the ride height by 30 mm (1.2 inches). The driver can adjust the ride height at the touch of a button, with the integrated Ride Control function. At the same time, the front and rear sway bars have been stiffened.
In addition to that, the SLS was gifted with a new exhaust system that brings a 10 hp power premium (the vehicle now offer 581 hp) and is 12 kg (26 lbs) lighter than the production one. The new exhaust also offers a sound control function.
As for the interior, this has received carbon fiber trimming, aluminum pedals, a new steering wheel and a speedometer that goes all the way up to 400 km/h (250 mph). The tuner claims that the new speedo “hints at the car’s future performance with BRABUS engine tuning”. Customers can also choose between a multitude of upholstery options.
