Brabus Mercedes S350 BlueTec Meets Euro 6 Standard

The tuning gurus call it the first tuned car in the world to meet the new EURO VI exhaust emission standard. We call it just another bulked up Merc worth the look, the money and a good spin around a track.

Using a Mercedes S350 BlueTEC as a basis, the tuning specialists created a monster of a car, by implanting it with an ECO PowerXtra D6S performance kit. The new heart gives the car a healthy power boost, bringing the power levels to new heights: 313 hp (up 54 hp from the regular version and a peak torque of 690 Nm.

But, perhaps for the first time in history, Brabus does not brag about the power levels of the car. As we already said, the tuner takes great pride in being the first to offer an Euro 6-compliant tuned vehicle, not in effect until 2014 in Europe.

In fact, the tuning package for the S350 is so efficient, that it might as well have met an imaginary Euro 7 standard: the car's tweaked engine emits 30 percent less harmful gases than the standard requires (170 mg/km).

In contrast to almost all other tuners BRABUS has its own engine development department equipped with state-of-the-art test-bench technology and emission laboratory,” Brabus says.

Back to the car, the tuning kit fitted under the hood gives the model impressive performances: naught to sixty in 6.5 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
