In theory, drifting is a double no-no when it comes to the Nurburgring. First of all, going round the Nordschleife bends is against Touristenfahrten (Tourist Days) rules. Secondly, Ring aficionados are usually obsessed with lap times and everybody knows tail-out shenanigans will make you slow.
Well, there are certain drivers for whom none of the above matter, which is why these people slide the hell (no pun intended) out their machines when visiting the Nordschleife).
We're here to bring you some fresh examples of such slip angle adventures, which come from the past weekend. And, as some of you have guessed, this is a BMW Nurburgring drifting compilation.
Some of the Bimmers seen here drift more spectacularly than others, but the idea is that the drivers featured in this clip tried to slide their way through the Carousel.
One of the most (in)famous bends on the 'Ring, the Carousel offers drivers two possibilities, as they can either take the bumpy inside (used for all the record attempts, for example) or go on the outside. And since rain hit the track, the Bimmer drivers simply couldn't help but sing the song of sideways people.
However, you should keep in mind that while the Carousel might seem more predictable than other areas of the Nurburgring, such as, say Schwredenkreutz, it can still send your car flying into the barrier on the side of the track.
We're talking about the Carousel exit, which can easily catch novice driver out - when the cars that had taken the inside route return to the smooth asphalt, if they do so at a sideways angle, things can easily get nasty.
In fact, to make sure you leave the track with your car in one piece, each and every second spent on the surface of the Nurburgring should be treated as seriously as possible.
