BMW X1 Official Gallery

Finally, after it teased us over and over with photos of the new addition to the X range, German manufacturer BMW has released a photo gallery showing the small SUV. Unfortunately, we are still waiting for the technical sheet of the X1, as it has not yet been released.

So far, details regarding the future engine lineup of the X1 are not complete yet, according to bmwblog.com, the X1 will be mainly propelled by diesel engines, with five of the versions being powered by such units. The gasoline powerplants include the xDrive28i which, with its 258 hp and 310 Nm of torque at 2,600 rpm, is the most powerful X1 out there.

The high end X1 diesel will wear the xDrive23d plating. It is powered by a 204 hp, 400 Nm at 2,000 rpm of torque engine, allowing it to reach sixty from
a standstill in 7.3 seconds. It is the second fastest X1 in the range.

The first public appearance will take place at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show in September. The initial batches of the X1 will not take to the US, until at least 2010. One of the most sought after piece of information, the price of the car, is still in rumor stage.

According to some sources, the X1 will be priced in the 30,000 – 35,000 euro range.
As we said, besides the photo gallery, official information is yet to arrive. We will bring you the official specs as soon as they become available.
