“While efforts are continuing behind the scenes to find a solution for the team, everybody is aware that putting in good performances at the circuits is the best way to advertise their abilities. We want to get back into the fast lane and so the development packages for Valencia and Singapore will be put into practice as planned,” added the German official.
Neither Nick Heidfeld nor Robert Kubica have managed to score a single point for the Hinwil based team in the last 3 races, so improvement is just what BMW Sauber seems to need in their 2009 campaign.
While thinking of ways to boost his team's performances in the series, Theissen – while joined by other BMW execs – are in constant talks with several bidders for securing a decent buyout in the upcoming weeks. According to media reports in Germany, it seems there are several offers on the table, only details are yet to be discussed.
The first attempt to secure a buyout from BMW failed earlier this month, as Peter Sauber – owner of 20 percent of the Swiss team – was unable to convince the BMW board of directors to give him full power over their F1 operations (Brawn GP style).
