As the July numbers on a Global scale were just released, we can now take a look at what BMW did in other countries, not just the US. And what country is more important at the moment than China, the number 1 market in the world.
For BMW, this year proved very successful in the communist country, especially thanks to the introduction of the long wheelbase 3 Series that boosted their sales significantly since its release.
Last month BMW sales in China grew by 39 percent to 32,194 units, more than Mercedes-Benz's 31 percent rise (to 18,530 units) and even Audi with a 27 percent increase (despite the fact that Audi adds Hong Kong numbers to the China total sales).
As for future plans BMW, the current worldwide leader of the luxury segment, expects China to overtake the US as their number one market in both volume and revenues. This is mainly due to the increasing popularity of the 3er and 5er in their respective LWB versions.
