BMW Group announced yet another solid growth in automobile sales in 2013, posting its best May numbers ever recorded.
According to the Munich-based company, a total of 166,397 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce vehicles were sold worldwide in May, which translates into a 6 percent increase compared to the same month last year. In addition, BMW Group reported a 7.8 percent increase over April 2013, when 139,161 automobiles were delivered.
With 46,838 vehicles sold, Asia registered a growth of 13.4 percent, while the US market deliveries were improved by 10.4 percent compared to May 2012. In Europe, sales remained at the previous year’s level in May, down only 0.6%.
“Our vehicle portfolio continues to be in strong demand and once again our sales volume rose to an all-time high last month. We could offset the headwinds in Europe through solid gains in other markets such as the U.S., China, Japan and Russia. We expect further successful months ahead, assisted by the launch of exceptional new products such as the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo on the 15th June and the newly modified BMW 5 Series in July.”
