BMW Motorrad Technicians Get ATA Master Accreditation

Three of BMW Motorrad’s dealer network technicians in the UK became the first ever to achieve the accreditation of ATA Master Technician, the manufacturer announced recently. This means the German motorcycle manufacturer now has the highest qualified motorcycle technicians in the UK.

The Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) scheme for motorcycles sets industry standard for qualifications and training of motorcycle technicians and is supported by all the major motorcycle manufacturers.

“Our congratulations go to these three BMW Motorrad technicians. The commitment they have shown demonstrates that our industry values national recognition of an individual’s current competence and integrity. ATA is valued by businesses and technicians alike and both are playing their part in raising standards to improve public perceptions of our sector,” said Ian Gilgrass, Accreditation Manager at The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).

From the seven technicians to take the courses, only Tony Carpenter from Vines South London Motorrad, Craig Stewart from John Clark Aberdeen, and Joe Martin from BMW Park Lane have graduated.

“They all work and train tirelessly to be the very best in their field and whilst all did not succeed on their first attempt they should all be congratulated for continuing to strive for the highest levels of technical proficiency,” Conrad Parker, BMW Motorrad’s National Aftersales Manager, said referring to the three technicians.

“Tony, Craig and Joe in particular should receive praise for becoming the first qualified Motorcycle ATA Master Technicians in the UK. They fully deserve this honour in motorcycle technical excellence.”
