Summer is just around the corner and, therefore, so is the season of drop-top cars. Out of the bunch of choices you can make, a couple stand out, especially in BMW’s corner where the offering can cover most tastes.
The smallest convertible the Germans will be making will be the 2 Series Convertible but we have to wait a little longer until it makes it to the market as it is just in the prototype stage at the moment. Right above it, we have the 4 Series Convertible that will be replacing the 3 Series model. It’s a luxurious, beautiful car that will carry 4 people comfortably with the roof down.

Going even bigger we have the 6 Series range that is both more expensive, bigger and heavier than the other too. Oh, and we also have the M cars we’re all dreaming about. There are 2 M cars available that do take their roof down. One of them is the M6 while the other is the M4 Convertible.

If you were to ask us, we’d choose the M4 in a heartbeat both because of its price and its newer character. If you are to choose this beauty, you’d probably want to know a bit more about it both inside and out.

Under the bonnet lies a brand new 3-liter biturbo inline 6-cylinder engine codenamed S55 by the guys from the Motorsport division. Making 431 HP and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque it will take the car up to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.4 seconds when fitted with the 7-speed DCT gearbox and 0.2 seconds slower when fitted with the manual 6-speed.

Inside, you’ll find the same BMW interior with a twist. A couple of new details quickly pop into your attention as you glance over the dash and instrument cluster. We’ll let you find them, in the video below. Prices for the M4 Convertible start at $73,125 in the US and deliveries are expected to start later this year.
