There are hothatches, like the Focus ST we just mentioned, and there are hyperhatches, like this one built by the Germans.
Yes, BMW has turned the humble yet overpriced 1-Series into a complete animal that very few people are lucky enough to control. Available in Australia now is this, the M135i, costing a whopping AUD68,400.

For that kind of money you can get a whole lot of luxury limo, but then this five-door comes with something else.

Under its bonnet is a 3.0-liter N55 engine tuned to produce 235 kW (320 horsepower) and 450Nm between 1,300 and 4,500 rpm.

This translates into a zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.1 seconds when fitted with a manual gearbox and an amazing 4.9 seconds with the automatic.

As we’ve come to expect, the fuel economy is just as amazing at the performance - 8.0 liters (7.5 liters with automatic)/100 km (29 mpg or 31 mpg) on the combined cycle, and a CO2 emissions level of 188 grams (175 grams with automatic) per kilometer.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
