In the search for complete, emission free mobility, BMW is looking to expand the technology used in the BMW i3 to other areas outside the car industry. The first place they looked at was the motorcycle division.
Therefore the C Evolution E-Scooter came up and was launched with fast at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show in the presence of the Group's CEO and other high-ranking officials.

The new scooter will benefit from i3's technology in storing energy and has an innovative electric drive system using a drivetrain swing arm with liquid-cooled permanent magnet synchronous motor, toothed belt and ring gearing.

Power output maxes out at 35 kW (47 HP) and the torque available from the moment you turn on the motor is 72 Nm (53 lb-ft). With such numbers, the C Evolution reaches a top speed of 120 km/h (75 mph) with a 0-50 km/h (31 mph) acceleration time of 2.7 seconds and a 0-100 mph (62 mph) of 6.2 seconds.

In practical operation, you can reportedly reach a range of 100 km (62 miles) and have 4 ride modes at your disposal: Road, Eco Pro, Sail and Dynamic. The range is due to the 8kWh battery that takes only 4 hours to charge from a normal wall socket.
