BMW i8 Shows Up at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show

Probably the best looking BMW in the current and future line-up is the i8. Even though it’s part of a different sub-brand, BMW i, the car still wears the old, traditional white and blue roundel on the bonnet.

The 2014 Detroit Auto Show, the first such auto event of the year, hosted a plethora of world debuts and impressive technology that will take over the auto industry in the near future. Therefore BMW couldn’t leave the i cars home.

Next to the already tested i3, the i8 was also spotted on the scene, with its big butterfly doors open, attracting attention. Sure, everybody was focused on the new M3 and M4 that were shown here for the first time but the i8 will forever be an eye-catcher.

In the US, the 362 HP car will be sold starting at around $136,000 with deliveries expected to begin somewhere towards the end of the year.
