The 2014 European Car of the Year award will be handed over at the Geneva Motor Show, on March 3 after many months of careful considering from the jury that, surely, didn’t have an easy task.
The short list for this award was just announced, the 58 members of the jury, from 22 European countries picking 7 of their favorites out of the extended 30-car list that was published back in September.
The seven cars that made it to the final are: BMW i3, Citroën C4 Picasso, Mazda3, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Peugeot 308, Skoda Octavia and the Tesla Model S. As you probably guessed it already, we’re cheering for the Bimmer, as it is the most innovative of the bunch.
Sure, it doesn’t come cheap, and some people might complain that it’s not for everyone but looking over the list, what better car can you spot? The S-Class is full of new technology and luxury but how many people can actually afford it?
The i3 comes to the market after around 7 years of research, bringing the ultimate driving experience to the city, inside a completely electric vehicle. It has a 170 HP engine that will allow you to cover around 100 miles (160 km) per fully charged battery and will amaze you with its interior made of renewable materials and sporting a premium finish.
