BMW has decided to start preparing the public for the launch of the i3 early: even through the electric model is scheduled to come to the market next year, the company has took the time to release a teaser for the car’s dedicated smartphone app on Facebook.
BMW promises that the app will offer much more than standard ones: it will allow users to monitor the i3’s charging status, as well as lock/unlock the vehicle. In addition to that, it will also offer a schedule that will control the charge process, so that this uses the electrical network at night, when electricity is less expensive.
The BMW i3 app also comes with a route planning feature that mixes navigation with charging stations and public transportation information.
