BMW Frozen Black M3 Coupe Sells Out Within Minutes

Remember that stunning stealth fighter we brought to your attention less than a week ago, in the form of the Frozen Black M3 Edition? Well, you can forget about it, as the car has already sold out. And, according to BMW Blog, it took just 22 minutes for the whole 20-unit run to evaporate.

And that happened despite the fact that this edition was some $21,000 more expensive than the regular M3 Coupe. Well, in fact, only 19 of them were sold and to be delivered later this month, with the twentieth car to remain in the possession of BMW of North America and may be sold at a later date.

We’ll remind you that the 2011 BMW Frozen Black M3 Coupe wears a price tag of $79,650, not including a $875 destination charge. Now let’s see what the greedy 19 buyers will get for that amount of money.

Each unit will be powered by a 4.0-liter, 414-horsepower M V8 engine, equipped with BMW’s M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT) which lowers the 0-60mph acceleration time of the M3 to 4.5 seconds from 4.7.

The cars will be finished in a special BMW Individual matte paintwork with a rare metallic luster made possible thanks to a special BMW-developed silk matte clear coat is applied over the Black Metallic base coat.

Other special features 19-inch GTS wheels finished in gloss black, with the same color being applied to the kidney grilles, fender vents and exhaust tips. Basically, this is the perfect car if you want to pull of a bank robbery at night, because if you turn the lights of, it will be as invisible as a black cat.

The package also includes red-colored brake calipers, black leather interior with contrasting red stitching and carbon fiber accents. The suspension has been lowered slightly, by 10 mm and that’s about it on the performance front.
