The 4 Series is the new Coupe in the BMW line-up. No more 3 Series Coupe, the 2-door version is now a whole new series, called '4'. We all knew that and we saw and read everything there is to read about the new car.
We can't get enough opinions on it though. That's why we're looking into what Autocar had to say about it. Just like all the people that tested it before them, the words included in this test drive are praising the 4er.

How could they not? It's powered by the majestic N55 3-liter, turbocharged engine that is on the verge of making history and hooked up to the only 8-speed gearbox that feels like a double-clutch unit but it's not.

One thing that might be disturbing at first is the engine noise, that Autocar claims is a bit like a diesel but we're finding that hard to believe as we tested the M135i and found the engine completely different.

The test car they had was fitted with the optional adaptive suspension and sports steering, things that come as standard on the M Sport models but have to be added on the other choices, including the Sport Line fitted car they drove.

Most of us are wondering what are the main differences between the 3 Series Coupe and its replacement. Stepping away from all the gizmos like the robotic hand that hands you the seatbelt and the design cues, the 4 Series has an improved chassis and a lower center of gravity.

It's faster and more precise, exactly how a brand new car should be, when compared to its predecessor. That being said, it is a good investment, no matter how you look at it.
