This weekend, BMW spilled the beans and decided to let us have a whiff of how the new X4 will look like by posting an extremely short teaser on Instagram. This time they’re back and brought a 20 second long clip on Youtube. It might not seem like much but, compared to the previous attempt, it’s a huge improvement.
The teaser shows the car in motion, filmed in striking daylight that partially obscures our vision. Even so, we already have a pretty good idea of how the car will turn out eventually.

All you have to do is put your mind to it. The front fascia will surely be almost exactly the same as on the facelifted BMW X3 that made its world debut today at Geneva. Round the back, expect similar styling to the current X6 but on a slightly smaller scale. Done? That’s the new X4.

You can also take a look online at various rendering but you won’t have to try too hard, the car won’t be surprising us too much. Inside, the same old interior is expected, with the traditional BMW driver-oriented design we’ve been getting used to over the last 10 years.

The reveal will happen, believe it or not, the day after tomorrow, most likely online. The engine line-up will be made up of the same units used on the new X3, including the improved 2-liter turbocharged powerplant that’s making 190 HP and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque and the usual N55 3-liter turbocharged petrol engine. Hopefully we’ll also get a 4.4-liter V8 in the mix but we won’t know for sure for months to come. The first place where you’ll be seeing the X4 in the flesh will be the New York Auto Show, in April.
