Let's say you're driving down the road in your brand new M6. All of a sudden there's this guy next to you at a red light. He's driving a supercar. Not just any supercar, a Ferrari. And let's say this Ferrari is a 458 Italia, the most popular car from the Prancing Horse badged company.
The chances of that happening aren't as small as you might think. Let's see how you'd stand in case you'd decide to accept the drag racing challenge.

The M6 has the S63 4.4-liter bi-turbo 560 HP engine (680 Nm) and weighs 1,980 kg. The Ferrari 458 Italia has a 4.5-liter V8 with 562 HP (540 Nm) and weighs 1,485 kg. On paper, due to the lighter chassis of the Ferrari, the M6 wouldn't stand a chance.

Keep in mind though that the M6 has been surprising everyone since its release. It managed to out best the 'supercar killing' GT-R and many other cars that seemed to be better on paper. The latest M6 is a surprisingly good car after all.

As you can see from the video, in such a showdown, the most important thing is to control your car's power. That is paramount and, even if you'd have 1,000 HP at your disposal, it wouldn't help you at all if you cannot control them and start spinning at the starting line.

You can see the M6 winning this one because the Ferrari driver made a mistake. He couldn't control the car's power in the second gear and lost the race. On dry asphalt the outcome of this challenge might've been different.
