For some, getting a BMW F10 550i might seem like a waste of money, especially when you have the M5 around. Some might think that getting an 550i is the best deal you could get, since the engine on this car has almost the same architecture: 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8.
However, the differences between the 550i and the M5 are pretty big. The first has 450 HP (in the updated version) and 650 Nm of torque, whilst the latter has 560 HP and 680 Nm of torque, and a lot more tricks under the skin than you might think.
The sound is glorious though in the M5 and that V8 growl is unmistakable. That's one point where the M5 wins hands down but it's also a problem that can be solved easily with the right aftermarket exhaust.
