As Apple is the world’s most valuable brand, valued at around €143- ($183-) billion, BMW is its automotive counterpart, with the Bavarian manufacturer recently overtaking Toyota in the charts (again), according to BrandZ Top 100 global survey, conducted by renowned market research firm Millward Brown.
The German manufacturer’s value has risen over the last year by 10%, while Toyota’s value has fallen by 10% due to the catastrophic tsunami and the Fukushima disaster of 2011 which created supply chain problems, with sales and popularity suffering as a result.

The three luxury brands from Germany have also gained popularity and value and this is due in no small part to their blitzkrieg-esque expansion into the vast and untapped market that is China. We were, however, not surprised when none of the GM sub-brands were present in the top 10.

Following BMW and Toyota occupying the first two positions, with values of $24.62- and $21.78- million respectively, followed by Mercedes-Benz with $16.11-million, Honda with $12.65-million, with Nissan, Volkswagen, Ford, Audi, Hyundai and Lexus, finishing off the top 10 list.
