BMW's M Performance parts catalog is the most impressive in the world... just as long as you live in Europe or the Middle East. That's because the US doesn't get all the right stuff, but that's about to change at the 2016 SEMA Show.
The Bavarian automaker has announced a comprehensive list of debuts that are coming to the big Las Vegas gathering of gearheads. There's so much stuff that it might outshine a regular motor show.
First off, we have good news for those folks with the 340i sedan or the 440i 2-door, including xDrive versions. The M Performance Power & Sound Kit will finally be available for the impressive 3-liter 6-cylinder inline TwinPower Turbo engine, boosting the output by 35 hp to 355 hp, with maximum torque increasing to 369 lb-ft (+39 lb-ft) for automatic transmission vehicles (+25 lb-ft on manual transmission models).
A bit like the Mopar catalog, M Performance lets you add even more character to hardcore vehicles. See, SEMA isn't just about American muscle cars!
Did you just spend $80,000 on an M4 only to discover that it's dull? No problem, because there's a range of high-tech alloy wheels which will become available for the M2, M3, and M4 starting next summer. But because you're cool, they'll let you have a peak right now.
Each wheel is milled out of a forged aluminum blank, which is a little excessive, but ensures the design is intricate and robust. You can have every color you want as long as it's matte black and every kind of rubber that's made by Michelin and says Pilot Sport Cup 2 on it.
And if something about the M4 GTS tickles your fancy, there's going to be new coilover suspension available for the regular M3 and M4. You can also buy a motorsports rear wing made completely from carbon fiber to give your project car a bit of downforce.
BMW will present a very special BMW Individual 740e xDrive iPerformance and finished in BMW Individual Frozen Black Metallic featuring M Performance Parts at SEMA. You know what we say: you're not a baller until you've spent over $150,000 on a single BMW.
